Connor McGregor wins Trademark battle

In 2016, Tabassum Gazala Khan - /Manchester-based businesswoman filed 3 UK applications which incorporated Connor Mcgregor’s Moniker. A separate €3,150 EU bid sought to cash in on McGregor’s name by emblazoning it on an aftershave, computer games, mugs and beer.

However, the UK authorities have refused rights to the following names based on a deficiency in the application and the EU trademark application has been withdrawn;

·        Conor The Notorious McGregor,

·        Conor McGregor The Notorious

·        The Notorious Conor McGregor were refused by UK authorities.

Furthermore, last October, the UK’s Registrar of Companies ordered that the McGregor-styled company Khan set up in July 2016,would be struck off the registrar and the company will be dissolved unless cause was given. No cause was given and the company was delisted.
