The US Justice Department recently indicted three Chinese nationals in connection with cyber attacks and the alleged theft of intellectual property of three companies. The alleged hacks occurred during both the Obama and Trump administration.
The hackers, presumed to live in China and were either employed or associated with Guangzhou Bo Yu Information Technology Co., known as Boyusec, allegedly stole intellectual property from several companies, including Trimble, Siemens, and Moody's Analytics.
A 2015 deal between former President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping prohibits the U.S. and China from stealing intellectual property to give an advantage to domestic companies. However, it appears from reports from U.S. intelligence agencies that China is breaking the agreement.
